The Challenge
This documentary was created to shine a spotlight on Ten Iron Women, a growing community that encourages and supports women training for Ironman events. While Ironman is often perceived as a sport reserved for elite athletes, the aim was to challenge that perception by showcasing the inspiring stories of everyday women balancing careers, families and personal commitments while taking on one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges. By highlighting the strength of the community and the support network behind it, the film sought to inspire more women to see Ironman as something achievable, regardless of their background or experience.
The Approach
We created a documentary-led film that followed members of the Ten Iron Women community throughout their training, combining honest interviews with cinematic visuals across swimming, cycling and running. Rather than focusing solely on race-day performance, we built an emotional narrative around the women themselves, celebrating their determination, resilience and the friendships that motivated them throughout their journey.
The Impact
The film gave Ironman a compelling storytelling asset that showcased a different side of the sport, placing community and inclusion at the heart of the narrative. By focusing on authentic experiences rather than elite competition, the content helped broaden perceptions of who Ironman is for and created a stronger emotional connection with prospective participants.
The Business Outcome
The documentary inspired more women to consider taking part in Ironman events while reinforcing Ironman’s commitment to making endurance sport feel more accessible and inclusive. By celebrating real stories and genuine experiences, the film helped shift perceptions and supported wider engagement with the brand.
